Roofing in Lorette

Lorette is east of Winnipeg in the Rural Municipality of Taché, a Franco-Manitoban community that’s grown from a small village along the Seine River into a bedroom community of around 3,500 residents. The housing mix runs from older heritage homes near the original village centre to acreage builds and newer subdivisions on the outskirts. Andrew Trudel grew up in Lorette, and it’s one of the communities we’ve been doing the most work in since the company started in 2011.

What Makes Lorette Different

Lorette’s housing is different from Winnipeg’s in a few ways: more acreages and country homes with larger roof areas, more outbuildings (garages, shops, the occasional barn) that often need their own roof or exterior work, and longer travel times for contractors based inside the Perimeter, which is why a lot of Lorette homeowners end up working with companies that aren’t actually familiar with the community.

The older heritage homes near the original village have similar patterns to what we see in older Winnipeg neighbourhoods, original soffit and fascia at end of life, eavestroughs pulling away from the fascia, attic ventilation that doesn’t meet current standards. The acreage homes and shop buildings often have larger flat or low-slope sections that need flat roofing work, and most properties have outbuildings that benefit from being included in a single quote rather than handled as separate jobs.
